“Grand duel” is immediately recognizable for its appeal, which comes from how the tension becomes a musical conversation. It features two lead instruments, two lead voices, and a new song from Plas Hervouët Band that combines blues, country, and folk.
The track is more like a dance between two accomplished musicians demonstrating the relationship between harmonica and guitar. In the middle are world-class harmonica soloist Rachelle Plas and master lead guitarist/composer Philippe Hervouët, who also share lead singing duties. The song opens with the harmonica taking the lead, and the guitar work grows more complex and comes into its own.
The instruments seem to answer, question, and enhance each other, turning technical musicianship into storytelling. They announced their self-titled album with a strong personality, bringing together two masters in a performance built on tension, exchange, and musical connection.
