We need to be ready to leave the comfort zone of the familiar and move on, and that’s the bottom line of Levi Randolph’s “Open Road.” This indie-folk single is a personal statement about the direction he wants his life to go. It speaks of optimism, reflection, and a new sense of possibility in the familiar language of folk storytelling.

The feel-good folk movement of the 2010s is where the musical identity is born, and it gives the release a dreamy feel. The writing style recalls Mumford & Sons and Bon Iver, and Randolph’s voice and lyricism have been likened to Noah Kahan’s. “Open Road” also speaks to the collaborative spirit of the final release, recorded in 2025 at Reach Studios in Denver.

Randolph enlisted Luke Pesce on electric guitar, Evan Haynes on drums, and Weston Obermeyer on bass to help bring his musical vision to life. Randolph talks about optimism not as a theory but as a choice of how he’s going to live going forward. “Open Road” has a spirit to it, a mix of thoughtful indie-folk influences and a personal commitment to new possibilities.
