ReeToxA is back with “The Lisa Song” from the album “Soliloquy.” The project is a reflection of work created during the COVID period, a time of delay and reflection, produced and mastered by Simon Moro. Jason McKee writes and composes the material, and he’s also the lead singer. It’s inspired by a real moment with a woman named Lisa at a Spiderbait show at the Forum Theatre, which made him stop hesitating and start recording the album properly.

Built on a solid rock foundation, it features Kit Riley on bass, Peter Marin on drums, James Ryan on additional instrumentation, Jessica McPhersonRiley on backing vocals, and Terry Hart on piano. It’s a happy medium between the energy of live performance and the precision of the studio. Moro’s production maintains a sound, direct, and centered approach, allowing instruments to breathe without losing intensity. McKee’s vocal delivery is emotionally charged, with dynamic shifts that reflect its rock identity.

“The Lisa Song” is a standout, honest and direct, and it further cements ReeToxA’s reputation as a project of lived experience and strong musicianship. This is a sign of a larger creative declaration that will resonate beyond its point of origin.
