Ship Says Om returns with “Water Prayer,” the first single off the upcoming “Djuphjärtad” EP, made in collaboration with Emma Lucia. The release provides a reflective sound world constructed from natural textures and understated instrumentation, placing the project in an increasing space of experimental alternative music that links environment and composition.

Built around Mason’s production approach, the track features field recordings including birdsong, wind, thunder, rustling trees, owls, and rhythmic oar movements across water. The layered ambient synths, piano, acoustic guitar, and percussion create organic sounds that lend a meditative flow that is both intimate and expansive.

The arrangement sidesteps traditional structure in favor of atmosphere, repetition, and texture to guide you through a slow unfolding experience. “Water Prayer” is a deliberate opening statement for “Djuphjärtad,” a project built on patience and sonic detail. It’s a testament to the ability of Ship Says Om to balance organic sound and compositional depth, a timeless listening experience rooted and emotionally charged in the world of contemporary alternative music, and in modern sound culture.
