“My Muse (Jazz Version)” is a musical tribute to the muse who gave birth to its words and tune. TJ Jones captures the feeling of meeting someone and wanting to create based on the impression they make. It’s not a complicated story.
Jazz is the perfect vehicle for this concept, as the track can focus on slick sounds, soulful bits, and a lingering emotional mood. The strongest artistic aspect of “My Muse (Jazz Version)” is putting an emotional response into words, lyrics, and musical composition. The song is the act of taking inspiration and turning it into creative expression.
TJ Jones uses the jazz version to look at that relationship between emotion and creativity. The song soon blossoms into a smooth, soulful tribute to inspiration, a celebration of the person who ignited a feeling that could only be truly expressed in melody and song, growing into “My Muse (Jazz Version).”
