True to 50 Cent’s form, the rap tycoon has hit back over his ex Shaniqua Tompkins’ latest claims he “hired a hitman” with a sarcastic social media post that is saturated in pettiness finesse. Tompkins, the mother of the rapper’s son, recently added to the pot by claiming that back in the early 2000s, Fif hired Misa Hylton, styling force to be reckoned with and mother to Puff’s oldest child not to consult on his threads for a day, but to get some self-admitted “dirt” on Puffy and possibly hit the skins. These allegations served only to fuel the already smoldering history between them.

If fans were hoping for 50 Cent to directly respond to the allegations with an in-depth defense of himself, they may have forgotten exactly who they’re dealing with. Instead, Fif did what Fif does best: ridicule masquerading as wit. In a recent Instagram post, rapper 50 Cent shared an AI-generated photo of himself in a suit, reading the news with a calm demeanor. It was captioned “was just wondering if there is a # or hotline you can call, if your old h*e’s show up 20 years later still mad. I’m just asking for a friend @50centaction.”

While he did not say Tompkins by name, the circumstances and substance of the message weren’t otherwise unclear. The post went viral, as followers sent reeling laughing emojis and messages praising the rapper’s signature savagery. This isn’t the first time 50 Cent has treated his social media channels like a battlefield, unleashing a tranche of unfiltered, entertaining shade that ranges from exes to famous people who’ve wronged him and industry rivals. However, what makes this moment feel different is that his war with Tompkins has never truly cooled, and it has been ongoing for years. For many fans, this exchange was nothing new, and it simply underscored 50 Cent’s continued reliance on humor and side-talk to address controversy, as he maintains an almost total command of his narrative. Whether too much will or has already played out is anybody’s guess, 50 Cent won’t let an opportunity to clap back go by, not when it’s the perfect troll job at that.
