Swedish singer-songwriter Julia Logan is back with a triumph of an album in her sophomore efforts, “Faraway Nearby.” Out now via Dumont Dumont, the 10-track collection confirms Logan as an elegant and masterful storyteller, weaving melancholic beauty with quiet perseverance.

Inspired by the sensuous, stirring works of Georgia O’Keeffe, “Faraway Nearby” echoes the painter’s themes of isolation and desire and offers hope. Collaborating with producer and co-writer Daniel Bengtson, Logan combines balms and fans from Fleetwood Mac, Midlake, Bruce Springsteen, and Lucio Battisti into a landscape that is both timeless and intensely personal. Each song is revealed as a confession, propelled by her ghostly singing and the natural warmth of piano and acoustic guitar.

Tracks like “Top of the World” encapsulate a soaring, bittersweet yearning. “Mirrors” contemplates self-actualization with subdued fervor. Logan’s voice drifts between vulnerability and strength across the album, enveloping listeners in a world where nostalgia and hope merge.

With “Faraway Nearby,” Julia Logan paints emotions, creating a long-running landscape. This is an album to be felt as much as it is to be heard, a testament to Logan’s artistry and her gift for transforming life’s uncertainties into something so beautiful.
