“Afuera” is an instrumental from Conrado Cimino 16-track album “Prisma,” out October 16 via the Música Humana label. Produced by Alejandro Staro and Nicolás Camarero, the track is an ode to the miracle of life, with a particularly intimate connection to the birth of Cimino’s daughter.

The work opens with Argentine nylon-string guitar, the instrument Cimino uses when writing music. From this base, the arrangement gradually introduces polyrhythms, woodwinds, cellos, synthesizers, percussion, and electronics. These sounds create a musical landscape that extends beyond its initial simplicity while remaining clearly rooted in the guitar fundamentally.

“Afuera” is based on a continuous loop between 2 chords. This repeating foundation provides a reliable framework for the work’s growing instrumental layers. The piece has little harmonic change, but it relies on rhythm, texture, and other instruments to shape the musical experience.

“Afuera” blends Argentine musical roots, modern production, and a deeply personal topic. In “Prisma,” it expresses the emotional possibilities of instrumental music, showing how a piece can mark a momentous occasion with painstakingly layered sounds instead of a long lyrical narrative.
