R&B heartthrob Trey Songz has found himself in the news again, albeit for reasons fans would rather not hear about the singer. The current shenanigans include attacking a photographer and smashing $200,000 worth of camera equipment at a recent Ivy venue event. The incident of police brutality has prompted an investigation into police officers, based on the testimony of those who claimed to witness the beating, as well as videos that were spread on social media.
The fight allegedly broke out at the end of the night when in-house photographers asked for one last shot of Trey by the Ivy logo. Photographer Saa Mansoor was tasked with the shot; however, what was meant to be a routine snap turned out to be far from it. After Mansoor started filming in the middle of a heated dispute that involved a woman in the vicinity, Trey allegedly became physical.

Eyewitnesses say the singer punched Mansoor when he wasn’t expecting it, smashed two of his cameras, and violently pushed him into a wall. Now, the venue owner supposedly told Trey the same was happening because “Mansoor is his guy.” And according to Trey, he then had an expletive-laden answer for him, “I don’t give a s**t” before clenching his fists and threatening to beat up the venue owner. Mansoor reported the matter to the police after the incident and received medical treatment. Later tests at the hospital found he had a concussion, a migraine, and ankle pain, including from a previous injury.
The physical and emotional damage wrought has not only alarmed those in attendance at the bash but rekindled fears over Trey Songz’s serial involvement in clashes laced with violence. This is not the first time the “Slow Motion” singer has faced accusations of aggressive behavior. Indeed, the trend is becoming increasingly alarming for both the entertainment industry and its supporters, who once idolized the singer for his velvety voice and romantic lyrics. While the police continue to investigate, many are following along, wondering whether Trey Songz will finally have his day in court or whether, once again, he will evade uncomfortable legal outcomes in response to what is becoming a familiar storm.
