In her latest single, “Love in Tennessee,” emerging singer-songwriter Tracy serves up a lovesick, fluttery homage to that ever-relatable moment of love at first sight set, appropriately enough, against the din of a drunken room and an optimistic heart.

Written in Nashville at the 2025 Tin Pan South Songwriting Seminar, the song has the spirit of Music City with a modern edge. Tracy pours heart and the slightest bit of whimsy into this country-pop gem that paints a clear picture of a moment so many have lived through but that few can quite express, the split-second choice to take a chance and say hello to somebody who caught your eye across the room.

Her bubbly yet sincere voice adds a spark to a story that’s bursting with nervousness, hope, and the adorable mess that’s a new connection. There’s something very real in how she stumbles through the openness of attraction. Whether it whisks you away to a summer night at a dance hall or a chance encounter in a Nashville bar, “Love in Tennessee pulls you in and wraps you up in its sweet simplicity

The production, sensitively and skillfully handled by Josh Cobb at Rockbot Studios in Jacksonville, Florida, glows with just the right admixture of country strings and polished pop sheen. Cobb’s treatment is perfect for the song’s emotional heart. He constructs a sunny, melodic soundscape that supports Tracy’s vocal storytelling, never getting in the way, but constantly adding to it. It’s no surprise the track was born at one of the country’s most revered songwriting gatherings. Nashville has a talent for bringing classic songs from its artists, and “Love in Tennessee” is no exception. It’s earnest but never overbearing, infectious without sacrificing its soul.

The track is the lead single from the singer’s forthcoming “Songbird” EP, set to be released later this summer, and “Love in Tennessee” hints at more of the same introspective glow and feel-good narratives that listeners will surely be longing for. Tracy is not only writing songs but also capturing moments. With “Love in Tennessee,” she makes us believe in the magic of chance meetings.
