Steve Lieberman, The Gangsta Rabbi, is back on with his full-blown new single, “Oh, Crotch Rocket – Remastered” from his album “Suicide Shift 50/88 opus 232.” This is a shot straight outta the barrel, venomous, raw, unbridled Militia Punk Fusion that strays from the archaic norms of modern punk to hit home hard where it counts.

Lieberman’s music feels even bolder because of what a ferocious emotional and physical fight it had behind it. But he pushes through leukemia, and both his pain and his resolve to push on over hard times make for a sound as defiant as it is cathartic.

“Oh, Crotch Rocket” winds up exorcising the sort of midlife crisis that doubles as a musical manifesto. Its fury is brilliantly incendiary, with something so heavy it tips on transcendence, as the distortion and anarchic rhythm coexist. It’s punk without the gloss, without the fear, and without ego.

Lieberman is chasing honesty, and under the noise lies his story about persistence, illness, and the will to create things when life itself wants you to shush. “‘Oh, Crotch Rocket – Remastered” is an act of survival, a very loud testament to resilience, and a statement that you can scream into the void and have it echo back even when you’re at your lowest.
