Irish DJ and producer Rebūke returns with two powerhouse new tracks, “Teardrops” and “Aingeal. “These offer fans a taste of the colorful realm that will feature on his debut album, “The World of Era,” out this summer on ERA. This double release is an essential chapter in Rebūke’s sonic timeline, blending heartfelt honesty with contagious grooves.

The highlight is “Teardrops,” which sees Swedish-Norwegian singer-songwriter Karin Park guesting on vocals, their first collaboration. “Teardrops” is aptly titled, an emotional rollercoaster with Rebūke’s signature synth-driven beats threading together Karin Park’s plaintive vocals. The track details a sense of vulnerability and emotional release, written by Park in tandem with Melissa de Kleine and Reuben Keeney.

Rebūke says, “Teardrops” is one of his favorite new tracks. Combining the powerful synths with the raw emotion in Karin’s vocals is stunning. The accompanying visual brings the song’s sadness to life, trailing a woman who ultimately sheds neon tears as she goes about her day while capturing the way you feel in your throat from the song’s raw emotional arc.

On the other hand, “Aingeal” sends us to instrumental grounds. Rebūke himself wrote, “Aingeal” is a text-free, hypnotizing piece that pulls listeners into a world. Rebūke’s deft production skills shine on the track, melding them with ethereal soundscapes and a steady, driving rhythm that allows the energy to flow from the beginning to the end.

Both are the perfect tease for what is sure to be a rich and vibrant world of sound that should attract everyone from electronic enthusiasts to house heads when “The World of Era” drops. The memories of “Teardrops” or the ambiance of “Aingeal,” for example, reflect Rebūke’s ability to tap into his fans’ emotions without sacrificing the depth and uniqueness of his production style.
