Rapper and YouTube star DDG has had enough of America. The rapper took to Twitter recently to air his grievances, not just about his ongoing custody battle with Halle Bailey but also his need for a clean slate, and the internet has been buzzing.

DDG tweeted that he wanted to move to Lagos because he’s sick of America. It’s a simple enough statement, but one that bears so much weight coming off the emotional rollercoaster he’s been riding lately. His comments come immediately after he voiced that he was upset over how little time he could spend with his son, Halo, whom he shares Halle Bailey.

DDG was frank, expressing his feelings about the parenting arrangement online. He said he hardly ever sees his son and that the child’s nanny spent more time with him than he did. His frustration bled into his music, too. He previewed what would become an emotional song called “Don’t Take My Son,” which says a lot about where his head is at right now. With lyrics that speak directly to his ongoing struggle, it’s evident that DDG is using his art to work through his pain and connect with listeners.

Halle Bailey, meanwhile, has not addressed DDG’s accusations directly. Instead, she said on Instagram that she and Halo haven’t been well. While some consider it a harmless update from a concerned mother, many see the timing as more than a coincidence. DDG is not planning to sue Halle despite his complaints.
