French sound artist Bastien Pons has teamed up with Frank Zozky to release his new music video for “Black Clouds,” an intense exploration of sound and the silence that lies between it, mixed with numerous talents. Taken from his debut album “BLINDED,” it’s as much a visual meditation as a musical composition.

“Black Clouds” appears as a shattered mantra, art-rock and progressive rock veined through with classical shades. It breathes, expands, and splinters, reflecting the process of evolving landscapes within the human mind. Frank Zosky’s contribution provides a disturbing texture, holding against the weight of such raw emotional gravity that it sticks with you long after the last note has died away.

As a sound artist as much as a black-and-white photographer, Bastien Pons creates music in the manner of framing a photograph through texture, contrast, and emotion. Every sound is purposeful, every silence needed. On “Black Clouds,” you can see the greys, shadows, and traces of light striving to break through.

The video for the track reflects that same visual tension. Ethereal images and expressive performances transport the viewer into an alternate universe where reality alters and feelings reverberate. With “Black Clouds,” Bastien Pons has us sit in the tempest, listen closely, and discover beauty within the noise.
