As dust begins to settle in the aftermath of the explosive end to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, one loud voice of dissent has pierced the din of Aubrey O’Day’s. The former Danity Kane singer did not mince words when reacting to the jury’s decision either, and she turned to social media to voice her frustration and shock.
The music mogul was acquitted of three of the five charges against him, including the most serious racketeering and two counts of sex trafficking. But he was found guilty of two charges of transporting for prostitution. After the verdict, where Diddy’s camp was relieved and even celebrating the outcome, O’Day was clearly disgusted. “This makes me physically ill,” she wrote in an Instagram Story after the verdict. About the charges associated with Cassie and another accuser identified as “Jane,” she said directly.

O’Day’s response is also not shocking to anyone who has followed her recent patterns of vocalizing her stance against Diddy’s purported wrongdoings. She has used her platform to call for accountability since the early days of his legal troubles. When the music mogul was first arrested last September, O’Day tweeted that women speaking out were being validated. “The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter. Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing,” she posted.
Now, months later, the finality of the trial has tasted bitter to her and likely many others. Her gut response highlights a deeper split in public perception, while some observers see Diddy’s partial acquittal as a win, others, such as O’Day, view it as just another case involving a flawed system and a lack of justice for survivors. While the music industry absorbs the result, the court of public opinion, Aubrey O’Day’s voice among many, is far from silent and far from over.
