British Cypriot artist A!MS is pushing the limits that define musical limitations with his recent breakout release, “Peak Season,” an edgy 9-track LP that merges reggae and worldly sounds with a dash of dance for what he calls “Global Street.”

Written and recorded in the idyllic isolation of Cyprus, a self-proclaimed “music industry desert,” “Peak Season” proved to be an additional challenge for A!MS to break away from the fast-paced life of London and produce something truly special. Tapping into his Cypriot, Lebanese, and Italian heritage, the mixtape also features a slew of appearances from an array of talent, including Julian Marley, ArrDee, Ramz, and more. The effect is a lush, exuberant wall of sound that feels at once intimate and universal.

Highlights such as “Light & Love (with Julian Marley & Antaeus feat. Hypertone)” and “Need Somebody (with ArrDee)” showcase A!MS’s talent for pairing confessional lyricism with buoyant grooves. The high-energy teamwork on songs like “Bap” and “Champione” injects a streetwise edge into the album’s cosmopolitan sound world. Co-produced with iconic duo Cool & Dre, along with Antaeus Michelin Shin and Golden, the album combines high-gloss production with the spirit and attitude of underground music culture.

Clocking in at 23 minutes, “Peak Season” is evidence that A!MS does not require a long runtime to have a lasting impact. It’s a dense shot of innovation, creativity, and international flair that sets him up as one of the most thrilling new voices in the global music scene.
